Visiting Cefalù Guide
I spent a week in Cefalù in 2022, and had an incredible time. The town is an ideal place to use as a jumping off point for seeing a lot of Sicily, and we didn’t have to use a car when we were there - we relied instead on the train station to get around, and it was reliable enough that we didn’t have trouble using it to go to Agrigento or Palermo.
This is one of the common things people say, actually, about Sicily - that you need a car. I didn’t find that to be the case, but might decide differently if there is a specific thing you want to see that is difficult to get to by public transit.
Over the week we were there we took two trips to see stuff specifically - one to the Aeolian Islands (Lipari and Vulcano, specifically) and one trip to Agrigento and the Valley of the Temples.
